This course, part of a 3-course series filmed live at AIA Seattle’s 2025 Climate Summit.Facilitated by Kirstin Weeks, LFA, Principal, Regenerative Design & Urban Ecology at Bio Studio, this interactive session enables course viewers to practice how to apply ecological and nature-based principles to design for co-existence with other flora and fauna, migrating or otherwise. Using digital tools such Resolve, iNaturalist and Pathfinder 3.0, this course enables course viewers to consider site and regional ecosystems to better understand present and projected climate conditions and design for the provisional needs – food, water, shelter and nesting – of a variety of local communities.
After participating in this course, you will be better positioned to incorporate the needs of local fauna and flora—especially threatened species—into the design process to support habitat creation and ecological connectivity.
Course Prices: $40 AIA members, $60 non-members (or purchase the 3-part series and save more than 20%)
