Course Preview
This video course includes English language captions.
Hear how renowned acoustic engineer Charles Salter, PE, of Salter, Inc., designed the audio-visual components of the stunning 60- seat lecture hall at AIA San Franciso’s new headquarters. Presenting from within the lecture hall, Charles walks us through how his firm enhanced Aidlin Darling Architects’s award-winning design with a highly effective yet inconspicuous acoustics system. Charles and his colleague Durand Begault, PhD, FAES, explain how they utilized specific materials, systems and details to achieve a high degree of “speech intelligibility” without impacting the aesthetics of this stunning space.
The session addresses room acoustics design, limiting mechanical equipment noise, developing effective means to adequately sound isolate a meeting room, and the use and misuse of electronic amplification systems.
Upon successful completion of a multiple-choice quiz, a Certificate of Completion will be available for download.
