This course meets the requirements for Net Zero Carbon Design for California license renewals and is provided gratis to AIA members courtesy of AIA California.

Non-AIA members can purchase this cost for $35 or buy a ZNCD Passport for $75 and select up to 4 courses to meet the required 5 hours for license renewals.

This webinar, the third in a 4-part CALGreen Embodied Carbon joint educational program between the SEAOC Sustainable Design Committee and AIA California, addresses the green building code changes adopted by the California Building Standards Commission (CBSC) on August 2, 2023, focusing on reducing embodied carbon emissions in large-scale building construction projects. Understanding these changes is crucial, as compliance becomes mandatory starting July 1, 2024.

This third session focuses on implementation of the prescriptive pathway. The roundtable discussion is facilitated by industry experts from AIA California and SEAOC who are joined by contractors and manufacturers responsible for meeting the prescriptive performance requirements by material. Discussion topics include collaboration between design and construction teams, supply chain engagement, specifications, and practical examples.

Upon successful completion of a multiple-choice quiz, a Certificate of Completion will be available for download and can be used to verify your licensure requirements.
